Having skilfully started exploration projects in Greenland and Finland for metals of importance in the green energy transition. Successfully secured finance for these projects through JV deals.
Relentlessly promoted exploration in Greenland and the EU as a foundation for a secure supply of raw materials.
Bo has throughout his career been fascinated by and focused on the mineral potential of Greenland. The topic of his Ph.D. study was regional crustal-scale assessment of the mineral deposit patterns and mineral potential in central West Greenland. Bo was the first scientist to assess an area in Greenland by combining different data sets (geological, geophysical and geochemical data).
Already at GEUS (2000 – 2016) Bo became an experienced economic and resource assessment geologist. He continued his carreer as senior/thematic officer for exploration, technology & innovation and business creation within the EIT RawMaterials (2016-2018).
In 2018 Bo joined BlueJay Mining Plc and he was appointed CEO in 2021. He is involved in and responsible for all the exploration projects within the company. Some of the highlights are:
The Enonkoski Project, Finland with Joint Venture partner ('JV') Rio Tinto
Comprehensive field programme at Disko-Nuussuaq Project, Greenland, with JV partner KoBold Metals. This highly prospective region targeted numerous areas for massive nickel, copper, cobalt and platinum group metals ('PGM') bearing sulphides.
Electronic Nautical Charts published for the Dundas ilmenite project in NW Greenland. The European Raw Material Alliance ('ERMA') announced official support for Dundas.
The Kangerluarsuk Zinc-Lead-Silver Project, Central West Greenland an exceptionally high-grade outcropping mineralisation with multiple drill-ready targets.
In addition to these projects in Greenland Bluejay has three high-grade, multi-element base metal deposits in southern Finland.
The Nordic Exploration Award is presented to recognise and honour outstanding achievement, accomplishment and service to the Nordic exploration industry. It was set up in 2006 by Magnus Ericsson co-founder of the Raw Materials Group. The Award is particularly intended to stimulate the interest and confidence of the general public in the exploration sector and to increase the general awareness of the importance of mineral exploration. Award winners are selected by an independent Award Committee with one member each from Denmark/Greenland, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
